It's been a nifty few days.

Saturday I cleaned most of this house from top to bottom, and finished the second revision of my novel. I also saw a play, partly written by [livejournal.com profile] foi_nefaste :)

Sunday was the 13th anniversary of my coming out, so I had a party. [livejournal.com profile] foi_nefaste, [livejournal.com profile] jenjoou, [livejournal.com profile] melting_penguin, Papa Gnu, little Michael, Matt R and Sarah were all there. It was laid-back and quite fun, although the cake I baked fell to pieces.

The third revision of my novel I began today, and it is progressing very slowly. I've also been struggling to get caught up in my Sonnets course -- tried to read Sonnets in Medieval Italian today, just to hear what Petrarch sounded like.

Way too much to do today, feeling little energy to do it.

Writing is going well. I'm going over a part that's awkwardly written, but good in content, in the first third of the novel. Also removing some dross. I'm really liking the character I added in there on the first revision. Kind of hated what I had to do to him.

Writing is a very cruel profession.

Reading up on Petrarch today, for a sonnet course. One of my favourite people in history.

Also, here's a good Rick Mercer blog entry, yanked from [livejournal.com profile] scottevil. Yes, the cabinet is a joke, but the backgrounds of each of these politicians is dead serious. And they're all running for office.

Also, had an LJ conversation with a guy on [livejournal.com profile] queer_mtl who's voting Conservative. Anyone there will either be queer or queer-sympathetic. How could such a person think of voting for Harper?
