Happy 2005, people!

I'm already happy because I'm back in town.

Which reminds me, my fellow D&D geeks -- we're going ahead with a game tomorrow. Don't worry if you can't make it -- I realize this is short notice, and I have a smaller adventure planned, just in case, and unless we have more than half this week, I won't do anything grand.

After this week, though, I have a couple of big things planned. You are forewarned ;)

D&D?

I am intriged once again

first the sta trek now d&D, I have to say I though I was one of the only few geek/nerd/homo hybrids, and I'm pleasantly surprised.
I currently play 3.5 with a couple of buddies from high school my sister and 2 of her friends from McGill, we gather once a month, school and work can be a hassel at times, and play the night away. I currnetly am a 4th level Psion/ 1st level fighter, species is Elan a psionically altered human that does not age basically and out lives te elves, YAY
we have alot of newbies in the group and at times I get a little frustrated and kill one of them, thank takhisis for being evil, lol
if you ever need some campaigning ideas or wanna tell me about some of your quests by all means do so

I was also wondering if you know of any star trek conventions, me and my nieghbour want to go check it out, she loves star trek and it would be an adventure.

talk to you soon
James

Oh, I used to think queer geeks were rare, but the majority of my players are queer, too. That makes for interesting campaigns.

As for ideas, I think I have more than I can use. The sheer volume of things I want to do to -- er, for -- my players while they're still a low enough level to make it interesting is staggering -- and depressing, because I won't get to do it all.

Currently, the party is six:
  • [livejournal.com profile] montrealais plays Kokuin, a 9th-level sorceror/1st level shifter, and sometime gentlemen of the evening. Kokuin collects love interests.
  • [livejournal.com profile] em_fish plays Firefly, 8th-level Halfling Bard/2nd-level Dragon Disciple. She's usually the party's conscience -- increasingly, she's also the party's dragon.
  • [livejournal.com profile] foi_nefaste is Rowen, taciturn and cynical Ranger. She's our newest.
  • [livejournal.com profile] laurangeis an inactive player, Misa. I don't know what we're going to do with her when she's finished classes, because I'm already at my limit for players.
  • I have three non-livejournal friends who play as well. One plays Galiah, kleptomaniacal rogue, and bearer of an evil artifact she can't seem to get rid of, nor can she use, but which makes her the target of every fiend who wanders into the party's way. Her husband plays a monk -- the only lawful character in a sea of chaotics, hopelessly naive and always trying to "correct" the party's "moral mistakes." A friend of ours plays a surprisingly gung-ho cleric of a sun god.

The party are essentially mercenaries, though with a good streak (half of them are CG, half CN, except the monk). They go from place to place taking on jobs, and occasionally managing an act of heroism (like stopping a coup in the city of Faerlynn). Larger subplots include the evil artifact (no one seems to know what it is -- or is willing to tell them), Kokuin's boyfriends, Firefly's search for her lost mentor (and to belong), Mathar's quest for redemption (he slipped from CG to CN), and Daryus's goal of founding a monastery. Rowen, the newest, isn't much fleshed out yet.

That's pretty much it. As for Star trek conventions, I don't know. I'm a fan, but I've never gone all out with it. The only geek conventions I've been to are anime ones.
