Happy 2005, people!
I'm already happy because I'm back in town.
Which reminds me, my fellow D&D geeks -- we're going ahead with a game tomorrow. Don't worry if you can't make it -- I realize this is short notice, and I have a smaller adventure planned, just in case, and unless we have more than half this week, I won't do anything grand.
After this week, though, I have a couple of big things planned. You are forewarned ;)

Date: 2005-02-02 12:32 pm (UTC)As for ideas, I think I have more than I can use. The sheer volume of things I want to do to -- er, for -- my players while they're still a low enough level to make it interesting is staggering -- and depressing, because I won't get to do it all.
Currently, the party is six:
The party are essentially mercenaries, though with a good streak (half of them are CG, half CN, except the monk). They go from place to place taking on jobs, and occasionally managing an act of heroism (like stopping a coup in the city of Faerlynn). Larger subplots include the evil artifact (no one seems to know what it is -- or is willing to tell them), Kokuin's boyfriends, Firefly's search for her lost mentor (and to belong), Mathar's quest for redemption (he slipped from CG to CN), and Daryus's goal of founding a monastery. Rowen, the newest, isn't much fleshed out yet.
That's pretty much it. As for Star trek conventions, I don't know. I'm a fan, but I've never gone all out with it. The only geek conventions I've been to are anime ones.
