Today, Tony Valeri (one of Martin's less reputable minions, and a man who looks distinctly like a guppy attempting to perform hypnosis) has announced a bill to extend the session until the same-sex marriage bill is passed. Since the Liberals, the NDP, and the Bloc have all agreed to it, it looks like it's going to be a done deal.

The report for the second budget bill, C-48 (that's the one that's, y'know, actually good) was made and debated on Thursday and Friday. That vote's going to be the tough one, now that one Liberal has defected and others have threatened to bring down their own government rather than let same-sex marriage pass.

In other news, I have an essay due a week today, and I'm only just beginning to find material I can use. I spent the evening at McGibbon's pub listening to my coworkers' coping strategies for essay season: throwing things at their partners, crying, burning things in the sink, screaming at parents. Suddenly my retreat to Internet and video games during essay season seems sane by comparison.
