National moving day ... sort of
Jul. 2nd, 2005 02:50 pmSo July 1st just passed, when half the leases in the city expire, so naturally I was called upon to help move furniture.
Unfortunately, since this is Matt R and his girlfriend who were moving, we had very little help. Not their fault -- between Matt's frequent flare-ups of Crohn's disease, and his girlfriend's dialysis, it was to be expected. Unfortunately, Matt was too sick to properly pack, and they were moving from one Verdun apartment to another -- and Verdun means tall rickety stairs.
I spent the better part of five hours negotiating stairs -- two flights between Matt's old apartment and the street, one flight back up to the new place. For about 1 hour, I was working alone.
Anyway, there's a game tomorrow, for my players. Noon as always. I should be able to move again by then.
