Spent yesterday with the Aries (Sam and [livejournal.com profile] node357). Today was spent with my Grandmother B*, Great Aunt Mouse, and Aunt Carole. I shall be leaving for the airport in about two and a half hours.

I didn't eat for 24 hours, and then I gorged myself on heavy food. As a result, I feel quite queasy. Thanks to my wild sleep schedule the last two weeks, I'm nodding off at strange times. That probably explains the splitting headache.

Otherwise, I'm coming down with something. 'Tis making it hard to write, and I have scarcely three pages.

Esquimalt in fog at night is very eerie, very scary, and strangely beautiful.

*The B, in case anyone is wondering, stands for Catherine. No I'm not joking. There's a story behind it, but I heard it as a very small child and can't remember.

Okay, I just picked up a call from Keith Martin's office. For those of you who don't know, Keith Martin is the bubble-headed fiscal conservative who jumped ship and changed parties when he suddenly discovered that his buddies in the Canadian Alliance/Conservative Party were (*gasp*) backward, theocratic, racist, homophobic neaderthals.

The cushy job he was offered with the Liberal Party was probably also an incentive.

It was a recorded message. He was tele-campaigning. If I got an electronically-recorded voice message from a candidate, I'd be instantly biased against them. A lot of people -- myself included -- despise recorded voices, and anyone who puts me through one of those touch-tone labyrinthes will make me as murderous as the minotaur by the time I get to the other side. Campaigning with a recorded voice is the political equivalent of slitting one's wrists.

Secondly, it appeared on the caller id system as "KEITH MARTIN, CA." "CA" may just be an unfortunate abbreviation for "CAndidate," but my first thought was, "He hasn't changed his phone number since he was a member of the Canadian Alliance."
