Jun. 13th, 2005 09:54 pmSo now I have a copy of the worst book ever written sitting on top of a box in the living room. I had to read it for a course.
Calling it bad doesn't cover it. This is a density of awful (offal) so massive that it has ripped a hole in the space-time continuum and is gradually sucking all the imagination, power, and beauty from all our other books. we're going to be left with nothing but shelf after shelf of Vanna Speaks.
I have a moral aversion to burning, throwing out, or recycling books, though this time I'm sorely tempted. I might bury it on Mount royal, though I fear that would leave that patch of ground infertile for centuries to come. Giving it to a bookstore would mean inflicting it on strangers -- an act of cruelty.
So here goes:

If that won't do, then recycling sounds altogether reasonable.
