So in a little less than 10 hours time, what may soon be the world's most-read book is going to go one sale. Stores are opening at midnight just to sell it (I can't think of any other book that's true for), though I'll be getting mine tomorrow.

I will be dropping out of cyberspace at midnight, however. Every second website on the Internet -- even those that have nothing to do with the series usually -- are going to have plot details splashed over the front page, and I'd much prefer to actually get to those myself.

It's a good series. I've found it an excellent antidote to all the gods-awful writing I've had to slough through to get my degree. Dutring the schoolyear, I returned twice to the series to remind me why I'm actually studying literature -- or why, for that matter, I even read.

Without it, I doubt I could have gotten through Krazy Kat: A Novel.

I will have to get it soon, myself. I suppose I should have preordered a copy but I'll get my hands on it soon.

I guess we won't hear from you until you finish reading it ;)

I know what you mean about wanting to know for yourself. It's a good thing it's going to be the weekend or I'm sure I wouldn't be able to help scouring the net when I got too bored of writing ADRC reports...

Once the weight of the "holy-hardcover" graces one's hands, it will be most difficult to drag the brain in any other direction, eh?

I'm so pleased you'll be there tomorrow. We'll tell you all about "Bigger than Jesus", which we're going to see tonight!

Call if you want a ride tomorrow...

I grabbed my reserved copy from Duthie Books first thing this morning. Unfortunately I was in the midst of performing minor surgery on the insides of Jen's computer at the time, so I wasn't able to start it. Then I had to go to work, so I took it with me to read on my coffee break. My friend Melina called and asked me out for coffee, so that didn't happen. On my way home the car started complaining (via a light on the dashboard) that it needed coolant, so I spent another half hour or so mixing Dex-Cool and deionized water and sorting that out. Then we only just had time to race down to Kits pool for a swim as the sun went down. By the time we were done swimming, we were both starving so I had to make dinner. At 10:30 tonight, I finally got to sit down and bond with my book. I finished it at about 12:35, and all I have to say is Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh..........
