I don't know about Japanese companies but there was a Korean series called INVU which had been cancelled at vol. 3 in Korea but because of it's popularity in the West, they started work on the final, fourth volume. So it's not impossible. And sometimes in Japan series that were cancelled in one magazine were picked up by another. I wouldn't hold my breath but it's not impossible.
