So, my room is gradually taking on the pre-move, zero-decoration-and-furniture allure of a crack addict's appartment. Except, of course, the computer wouldn't last two minutes in a crack addict's apartment.

(I have the computer propped up on boxes -- it reminds me vaguely of tireless car on cinderblocks.)

No surprises that virtually everything I own is in book form. Even factoring in the furniture I'm taking with me, and the clothes, about 75% or 80% of what I own seems to be books (and we're talking volume, not number, here). And that's only if I don't include notebooks, old journals, scrapbooks, etc.

On a D&D note, it looks like we can have it here after all -- if you guys don't mind all the boxes, that is :)

You and me both... And yet I don't feel bad about it in the least ^_^

Me three. And the only furniture I own is a set of ancient steamer trunks. I figure if they survived Customs in Iraq and China twenty years ago, they will survive me.

Just to make Felis feel better, I will admit to having had the computer set up on one of the steamer trunks for an entire semester once. I sat on the floor. Actually, I sat on the futon. Which was on the floor, right next to the computer. I checked my email every morning by rolling over and smacking the keyboard to turn the screen saver off.

What?

^___^

I love ancient, battered steamer trunks. An old steamer trunk of my parents' found its way into my novel.

I've selpt on the floor quite a few times. I once went months sleeping on a pile of clothes on a hardwood floor.

It's certainly not something to feel bad about.
