So I'm working my first ever Saturday at the office, and it's actually kind of neat. I have this huge office to myself, I can work by natural light and desk lamp rather than the droning fluorescents, and -- best of all, the office is silent except for the music I brought with me.

Data entry in this environment is a little like what it must have been like to be a monk copying books in a monastery in the Middle Ages.

I can also take my breaks when I want, and post online when I take them ^_^

So to recap the last two weeks, I'm not dead. I've spent the last 7 days constantly on the go with school, work and the NDP, and didn't get a chance to relax at all until Thursday evening.

I printed up two copies of my novel, and they're still in the hands of the people who've been reading them. Meanwhile, I've been ressurrecting old short stories and giving them full overhauls.

I understand completely. It's one of the things I love about working on the weekends. Lack of time off aside, it's a much more confortable way to work.

I probably would have been happy as a medieval monk but I don't think they hired women. ^_^

Do you think nuns ever copied books...?

It is fun. It was kind of disappointing when the payroll guy showed up today, and I had to have the lights on and be bombarded with radio-friendly music (he likes Mix 96).

It's not impossible, I suppose, since a lot of nuns were widows and unmarried women from good families. So I'm sure plenty of them were theoretically capable of it. Still you never hear about nuns copying manuscripts...

Three of my four email addresses are not working right now -- I can't even load up the hotmail address where I store your email address. So I got an old address of yours out of my otakumail (which won't receive email, just send it), and sent it via my planetout account.

I hope it gets to you, and hopefully my planetout address is accepting email. If not, you'll have to give me your email again.

*hugs*

I hope everything is okay, but I'm guessing it's not...?

Thanks for the offer (I got another one), but the problem does not seem to be hotmail. I can't log on to any secure server from my roommate's computer. He called tech support, and they tried everything, but this has them completely stymied :/
