So today I received a Christmas card from an ex-boyfriend-but-still-a-friend, who I'll simply refer to as N.

It arrived "postage due."

[livejournal.com profile] montrealais laughs and says it's impossible to do anything else because it's so in character for N. He must be the cheapest person on the face of the earth. Even while we were dating, and I was making about one-tenth the salary he was, I was still the only one buying the other gifts at Christmas/Yule.

But even still, you have to wonder about someone who'd make an extra effort to ensure that the recepient of a Christmas card pays twice what you'd have to, just to save the money on a stamp.

For Christmas, I hope he's visited by three spirits who'll hit him over the head with foam baseball bats until he sees the error of his ways. But I have a feeling that if Bob Cratchett ever worked for my ex, Cratchett's salary would get cut on the grounds that he no longer had to feed Tiny Tim.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] montrealais wants to mention that the card is very nice, and was sealed with a wax seal. Maybe he spent all his money on the wax seal?

I considered that, but [livejournal.com profile] montrealais already sent in the postage.

Maybe you should send him back a card with no postage... ;)

What are your plans for Christmas? When are you planning on heading for the West Coast? We're really looking forward to seeing you.

I'm going to be in BC from December 17th to the 29th. Aside from seeing one close friend in Victoria, my plans are completely fluid at this point, and open to suggestions.

Ah N. -_- Why are you still friends with him, again?

At this point, mostly because he amuses me.

He's impossible to hate because he's impossible to take seriously. He's a valuable source of funny stories.

And I love your Christmas Cloud by the way ^_^

Ahh well that's an ok reason.

And thankee ^_^
[livejournal.com profile] silversolitaire made it. I think she's still taking requests in this entry, if you want another Christmas icon ;)

I think I'll stick with the one you made me. It so good for expressing all my sentiments around the holiday season.

We're more amused than annoyed. It was only $1.02, but the story we got out of it is priceless ^_^

My first reaction was to laugh. It's horrible but it's funny. ^_^
