I think what I need most of all right now is a way to get involved. I have a very hard time finding my communities. Since I don't like the bar scene, my only access to the queer community seems to be the university groups, and it's getting depressing meeting new people and then watching them go back to whatever city they came from and never seeing them again. I also worry that I won't be able to go to these groups indefinitely -- I'm only a student there for another year.
As for the other communities I'm a part of, most of the Wiccan groups in town have seemed a little crazy, except for the one Matt's involved with at McGill. I'm also having trouble getting into political communities I support, usually because such communities don't exist. Either the issue is considered (wrongly) moot point because the Quebec is (usually) so progressive on social issues like queer rights or war, or there's no infrastructure for activists at all because the province is so incredibly backward on the issue (like environmentalism).

I guess I'm just feeling isolated in this city.
