First off, I'd like to wish a (belated) Happy Birthday to the wonderful em_fish. I haven't been around much in Cyberspace, or I would've posted sooner.

This journal is turning into all politics -- I shall leave an entry on Harper's latest evil for a later date.

Other things do happen in my life. My writing continues apace. My editors still have my most recent version, and I'm going over it myself page-by-page, playing my own editor as well. I'm getting the same two thoughts over and over again that I always get now -- It's going to need a complete overhaul and Not again -- I just want to get this out.

(If I do re-write it, that'd make four versions, cover-to-cover, in six months)

We also lost one of my favourite co-workers yesterday -- he's going to Regina (his wife's home) and trying finally to launch a musical career. He originally came to Montreal to do theatre, and even owned a small venue for awhile.

Anyway, to further break myself out of the rut, a meme:

Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on lima beans, favourite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc.

ETA: Today is the Ides of March -- traditionally considered an unlucky day in the West because the Emperor Julius Caesar was assassinated 2,052 years ago today.

First Nations might also consider this an unlucky day, since it was the one Christopher Columbus reached Spain in 1493, to tell all of Europe about all about what he thought was a new route to India. Colonization soon followed :/

I know, I know. But I want this novel to be brilliant. And for the first time, I believe I could pull that off ^_^

But it takes time.

And I'm happy to post about food, if that's what you want -- I can write something this weekend. But that's always been a difficult relationship right there.

I think if you wait for it to be absolutely perfect, you'll never get it out... you've been writing at your to-be-published work ever since i've known you... and we're now in the 8th year. But yah. In the end you have to be happy with it and not anyone else, I suppose.

And, well, if you'd rather not write about food, no pressure. I just think I don't know anything about what you like to eat or not at all.

I haven't been reading for long, so maybe I've missed something, but I'd like to know more about how you live where you live. What's your favourite place to eat, in Montreal?

I'll post about that in the next couple of days, as part of a food response. If you meant just in general, I'm an administrator in a language school -- lots of data-entry and English placement exams and filing and hunting down missing information.

I live in Verdun, on the single block between the Wellington promenade (mostly independent little stores) and the St-Lawrence River.
