Day 8
I have been more than a week adrift on a sea of homework, in my raft built from textbooks, and see signs that the waters may be lowering. Yet still all I see is an ocean of paper -- photocopies to read, exams to mark, translations to do. An occasional playful novel leaps out of the deep, only to descend whence it came.
At night, the soft rustling of the paper lulls me to sleep. I pray for gentle breezes. I pray to reach solid ground before I run out of food and water.
I sent a dove out this morning, to search for signs of dry land. I think it may have been eaten by my copy of Waverly.
