My first post in weeks, and it's a meme. But a good one :)

Apparently the BBC reckons most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here.
Instructions:

1) Look at the list and put an 'x' by those you have read.
2) Add a '+' to the ones you LOVE.
3) Add a '-' to the ones you HATED.
3) Star (*) those you plan on reading.
4) Tally your total at the bottom.

and I'm adding:

5) put a "parts" for things you've read parts of -- because, after all, how many people have read absolutely everything Shakespeare ever wrote?

I don't know if it'd be your sort of fare, but my favourite book is Lolita by Nabokov and I highly recommend it. It has a very interesting style, to say the least.

I haven't. I was largely turned off Russian literature by slogging through Chekov.

ETA: Although now I see (thanks to Wikipedia) he was mostly US-based.

Indeed! Paragraphs of the book are written in French, as well.
