felis_ultharusRight now the battle is winding down to the vote. The same-sex marriage bill is being debated for the last time. They decided to put an end to the debate and hold the vote tonight. I'm watching the arguments on C-Pac.
It should be passed in the Commons before 11 pm. Then it just has to go through the formalities of the Senate -- that usually doesn't take more than a week, and there should be no danger there. Then it just needs Adrienne Clarkson's signature, and it becomes a law on a date (usually in a month) which she specifies.
I'm almost an equal citizen -- under federal law, at least.
ETA: Now the media is reporting that the vote is going to be Tuesday, not tonight. Oh well. It's still not long off.
