the end of a world...
Aug. 7th, 2005 05:25 pmI ended the campaign today. Since deciding to end the adventure, my heart wasn't in it, and there was no way to wrap up all the loose ends in a single adventure. So I just cleared up the mysteries, and announced what I'd been planning from the beginning.
montrealais bought little pastries, and got me an end-of-campaign gift. We'd been playing for a little over a year.
I think I'll focus my creative energies more on writing now.
Next time I DM, it'll be a different world, so I said goodbye to this one for good. It's strange, setting the Apocalypse on characters you've crafted so carefully, you feel like you know them.

Galiah was a gift of a character to DM, and a vital part of the chemistry that made the game work for so long. When I brought Black Leaf, her arch-nemesis back, I realized it just wasn't the same. The interaction between them was most of the fun of Black Leaf as a villain. I cut back her role significantly, after that.
Galiah shall be missed.
