Nov. 16th, 2004 11:14 pmAfter 48 hours of marathon writing on my new computer, I successfully wrote up both an essay on John Marlyn's Under the Ribs of Death (a novel which took a quarter century to be noticed, it was so obscure, and is now getting popular), and my final version of my piece on the four versions of The Tin Flute (there's never been an uncut version of this book in English).
Somewhere, I managed to get caught up on my writing. And read half of The Double Hook, an experimental book by Sheila Watson. I also finished Stephen Leacock's Short Circuits.
One of his final pieces was about how American writers should come up to Montreal and set their stories in our city, because we don't have Prohibition here (this was when it was illegal to drink in the US). It's so relevant now, what with our 2 countries' policies on gay marriage and marijuana.
So, yeah, productive day.
