I think I'm mostly recovered from the weeks of chaos. After a couple weeks of cramming myself full of PoMo, Susanna Moodie, Carl Jung, and Margaret Atwood those last two weren't so tedious), I have resolutely refused to learn anything this week.

And I have kept my promise to myself. The only thing I learned today is that the evolution and genetics of Final Fantasy's Chocobos would make both Darwin and Mendel spin in their graves.

This has been a good week for clearing my head. A few times, I've felt more alive than I have since my complete breakdown four years ago. I feel like I'm getting back something I thought lost for good.

[livejournal.com profile] montrealais, when do you get into the airport? I may not be able to meet you, if it's during class. I can't get out of tomorrow :/

Also, what do you think chances are for dragging your dearest darlingest roommate out for a wee bit of coffee end-of-day tomorrow? Or would he be too tired?

I'd be up to it. I'm not feeling that well today -- very tired -- and might not go to class. But I could probably drag myself out for coffee.

Just don't tell Nick :)

^_^

Back when [livejournal.com profile] montrealais's computer was working, I had that very cartoon on my "favourites" list.

We all have to get together sometime. I haven't seen [livejournal.com profile] foi_nefaste in awhile either. We'll both be at Advent Children this Saturday, but maybe Sunday...?

well, we may or may not run into each other as you leave and I arrive for the movie but Sunday might work. I just need to figure out when my Aunt's flight back to Alberta is. It's a bit rude to go out to meet friends while she's still here... The same reason why I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it to the book club on Sunday.

Rude to meet friends? A last-minute just-to-hang-out thing could, if you stretch it, be considered rude. A planned-for-the-past-month book-club thing? She can deal, I'm sure. :P

Also, coffee would be brilliant. Sometime soon. 'cause, erm, yeah. It's been a while. FYI, I'm free anytime before 4:30 on Friday, and kinda not for the weekend, 'cause I'm kinda seeing someone, and... erm... *headdesk* Yeah. Anyways. So. Friday? Monday? Tuesday? Speak! And, just for the record, I vote coffee-and-cake-at-Kilo. 'cause, nummy. :)

I'd agree except I haven't seen this aunt (my gdmother) in about 6 years and she's comming to see me specifically.

But I doubt it's a late flight so it should work out... I hope. I miss you guys!

Well, I hope I'll see you on Sunday. It'd be lovely. :) 'cause it's been a few weeks. And coffee+chatting+books is always a winning combination, no?

If you can't make it this weekend, it's okay. I'm still not feeling great, a little flu-ey. And I have to make up for having goofed off all last week :/

I remember that was the best part of the game. Oh Final Fantasy!! What number are you playing and on what system?

There are parts of that game I like a lot better, but Chocobo breeding is fun.

I'm still on FF7, gradually doing everything -- I mean everything. I've bought the beach house at Costa del Sol. I got the special prize in Chocobo Races. I sent my character on the date with Barret. I've even found three or four items that aren't mentioned in any walkthrough.

Anyway, I have successfully bred the Chocobo Messiah (I call him that because he walks on water), and just beaten Weapon #1, and now I'm going after the giant cannon in Midgar.

I'm very, very slowly playing the series in order -- been doing this over a few years, when I have time. I've played the first nine and Tactics out of order before, but I've never played X, X-2, or XI, not owning a Playstation 2 (or, at this point, a TV). So far, though, VII is definitely my favourite.

My system is PC.

X is very good (and I love the opening music, Heavy Metal by Nobuo! ^_^), X-2 not that great from what I hear. XI is an online game. I wouldn't bother if I were you. James played it for a long time but even he's gotten sick of it and he loves online games.

I'm curious about XII though. It's set in the tactics universe. I don't know much about the story yet (and I burst out laughing whenever I see a pic of the male lead) but hey, it's final fantasy. There's supposed to be a game about Vincent coming out. I forget the title though.

I'll probably play XI just to say I did. Problem is, will anyone still be playing it when I finally have the tech to do so?

X is my only temptation to get a TV, so I can use a Playstation. Fortunately, I have a standing offer from [livejournal.com profile] em_fish to play it at her house.
