Hi! I'm Yumemi, and you have no idea who I am but I've been lurking on the SDMB for years now. Someone linked to a thing that linked to a thing that linked to another thing that quoted your LJ, and here I am, complimenting you on the adorable Cloud & Sephiroth and Shuuichi icons, and absolutely wracking my brains to ID the one with the two fellas in evening dress dancing because I know perfectly well I know what that's from and can't remember.

I used to think that seeing slashiness in historical stuff meant I was spending too much time reading fanfic. Then someone told me the story of Oga Nobunaga and Mori Ranmaru, and got me to read Genji Monogatari. I am now quite convinced of my sanity, at least in this one tiny area, and amused by how blind other people can be.

Yeah, queer characters in history and old literature is a veritable obsession of mine. Jokes aside, there really does seem to have been a YAOI/slash obsession in Ancient Athens, though the intervening millennia make it hard to see it sometimes.

The two characters in my default icon are Shinji and Kaworu from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I made the icon from fan art I found floating around the internet. I made the Cloud and Sephiroth one from the cover of a YAOI doujinshi ^_^
