"The rest of the world in which I lived was still stumbling about in search of a weapon with which to exterminate this monster [homosexuality] whose shape and size were not yet known or even guessed at. It was thought to be Greek in origin, smaller than socialism but more deadly, especially to children."

"By the time I was twenty-eight, I had tired of the experience [of being fired]. I easily found a way of preventing its recurrence. I gave up work."

The universe will crumble if I don't link this. It came with the label "Warning: Peniscoaster!", and I'll attach that warning here as well:

A very, very funny safe-sex message from France, aimed at gay men.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming. Although, this being the internet, that pretty much is the regularly scheduled programming.

Well, today's the election. Nothing much more to say, except, obviously, go and vote. And be very careful about posting results between the closing of the polls, and 10pm Eastern Time.

Every projection I've seen says Harper can't win a majority. He has massive support, but it's too concentrated in one part of the country (the West + parts of Ontario). We may be looking at a one-third Conservative parliament, maybe as high as two-fifths, but not one-half.

That'll mean six months (at least) of paralysis, but at least it'll mean Harper can't do much. In the meantime, we can do everything we can to educate people about Harper's agenda. We've done all we can for this election.

Meanwhile, some levity, for people who are who are looking for a distraction while they wait for the polls to close. That is all. Here's hoping things aren't as bad as we fear :)
