I really enjoyed the Tori Amos concert last night -- and thank you to [livejournal.com profile] em_fish for the ticket and company. We had seats in the lowest tier, where we could see everything. She had a piano, an organ, an electronic keyboard, and one we couldn't properly identify, but which [livejournal.com profile] em_fish thinks might called be a two-tone. She frequently played two of these things at once while singing at full voice. It was amazing.

Most of the songs were her newer material, and I didn't know them all that well. We got her to keep coming back for encores at the end, and she finished off with "1000 Oceans." There was only one song from Little Earthquakes, which is everyone's favourite, but I'm sure she's sick of singing from that album by now.

She's even crazier on stage than in interviews.

Anyway, right now I'm at a friend's house, where I'm sort-of house-sitting. And I have permission to use his internet. There's the most adorable marmalade-tabby kitten with oversized tail and paws stumbling around here, and getting into everything.

Oooh, Tori Amos. I'm envious of both that and the kitten. What's his/her name?

His name is Mebu, and he's a boy. There's a also a Danu, a much older female cat, around here, but she won't come out while I'm here.

This is my second afternoon here, and I am now covered with marmalade fur. I had to close the door because he kept walking all over the keyboard :)
